The Working Principle of a Hay Baler
A hay baler works much like a giant “field compressor,” collecting and compressing scattered crop stalks or hay from the ground into regular shapes that are easy to transport and store.
Efficient Picking: The pickup mechanism at the front of the machine uses tines to “comb” and gather the hay from the ground.
- Forced Feeding: The picked hay is then smoothly fed into the baling chamber by a feeding rotor.
- Rotary Compaction: This is the most crucial step. Inside the baler’s drum chamber, the hay is continuously tumbled and rolled by multiple high-speed rotating compaction rollers. As more material is fed in, the hay is compressed layer by layer from the inside out, ultimately forming a cylindrical bale with a dense core and a uniform outer shape.
- Automatic Wrapping and Ejection: When the sensor detects that the density reaches the set value, the high-speed net wrapping system is activated, tightly wrapping the bale with netting. Finally, the hydraulic rear door opens, and the formed round bale rolls out by gravity.
